We joined the city tour with the guide Emilia together with children of different ages, and it was a truly enjoyable experience. The tour was interesting and engaging for everyone, thanks to the guide’s ability to adapt to different age groups and keep their attention throughout. The children had a lot of fun, and the adults appreciated it as well. We highly recommend it for families!

Full Description
Bring Renaissance art to life for your children on our Michelangelo’s David & Accademia Tour for Kids & Families, a fun, engaging, and interactive journey into the world of Florence’s most famous masterpiece. Led by a lively, kid-friendly guide, this tour transforms the Accademia into an exciting discovery game filled with stories, clues, and artistic surprises.
Begin with Michelangelo’s fascinating world—how a young artist turned a massive block of “ruined” marble into the most iconic hero of the Renaissance. Children become “art detectives” as they explore the museum, learning how Michelangelo carved muscles, expressions, and details from stone, and why David became a symbol of courage, intelligence, and freedom for the Florentines.
Through storytelling and games, kids discover the hidden fun inside the museum: the unfinished “Prisoners,” where figures seem to break free from the marble; musical instruments from the Medici collection; and lively details in paintings and sculptures throughout the galleries.
As they search for clues, sketch shapes, and decode symbols, young explorers develop a deeper appreciation for art—without ever feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Perfect for families looking to experience the Accademia with curiosity, creativity, and plenty of laughter.

Martina exceeded even my highest expectations. I should start by saying I used to teach in museums for more than 15 years and have a lot of experience leading and observing tours with families. Martina is one of the best. From the David to the Duomo to Palazzo Vecchio, she was able to expertly lead an inquiry-based tour engaging them in a friendly trivia "game" that also provided lots of new context, opportunities for movement, and direction to look closely. Worth every penny!

The walking tour and the Accademia tour with Martina were absolutely fantastic. The kids had so much fun and were truly engaged throughout the experience. It was the most beautiful experience we had in Florence, and we highly recommend it!

We took this tour last summer. Our guide, Giulia, gave us many useful explanations, and our daughters really enjoyed the walking tour. They still say it was one of the best tours they have ever done in Florence. We highly recommend it because it allows you to see Michelangelo’s David and discover the city at the same time.
